Customs, historical patterns or habits are
what makes a People, a Society unique.
In particular, it is the image that comes to mind when
you hear the name of a particular Region or People.
An example of a People with unique customs
and culture are the Amish of North America.
Most people have an instant image when you say Amish.
The Amish have very distinctive customs and these
customs or habits set them apart from other people.
The Amish are a society within a greater society.
As with many new Americans, the Amish came here seeking
religious freedom and then chose to create a microcosm,
separating themselves from all outsiders.
In my home state of Indiana, we are fortunate to be able
to observe the Amish as they go about their daily lives.
Each Region and People of the Earth also have these
same special qualities that makes them unique.
Not all of them are as distinctive as the Amish, but many are.
These are places to learn more about the Customs and
Habits of the World’s People listed by Global Regions.
